The winter break and high season in the mountains are approaching, and many people will be embarking on long car journeys.
Unfortunately, cars are often places where bad smells tend to develop.
Now you can freshen up your car in just a few hours – with ozone.
"We got rid of both the smell of tobacco and dog," says Håkan Karlsson.
Most cars, unfortunately, start to smell more or less bad over the years, no matter how much they are cleaned. A pet may have been in the car, or someone might have smoked in it. Other common reasons include moisture seeping in and creating a stale and musty smell, or debris and food residues perhaps stuck under seats and on floors.
If someone has vomited in the car, or an animal has urinated in it – then the stench is truly difficult to get rid of.
"When the smell has settled into the car's upholstery and interior, it's virtually impossible to clean it away with traditional cleaning products," says Johan Lundberg, who founded the tech company Ozoneair in Luleå.
Removes odors and mold spores
With the help of the Swedish innovation Ozoneair, you can sanitize your vehicle in a completely new way.
"The Ozoneair machine converts oxygen from the air into ozone gas, which attacks and neutralizes air molecules. Bad odors disappear, as do mold spores, bacteria, allergens, and other microorganisms," explains Johan Lundberg.
Ozone penetrates and cleans in nooks and crannies, and also in materials such as upholstery and interior.

Ozone has long been used by car detailing companies to sanitize cars from bad odors. Now, there is a product that makes it possible for individuals to sanitize with ozone, without any prior knowledge.
For car sanitization, the smallest model, Ozoneair Go, is suitable. It is easy to handle and weighs barely 3 kilograms.
Håkan Karlsson from Östhammar used Ozoneair Go to get rid of old cigarette and dog smell in his Toyota.
"Both my wife and I have smoked in the car, and the dog had been in it. Those who rode in the car complained about the smell. But after sanitizing with ozone, it smells fresh again, as if it were new, actually."

"You place it on the car floor and press start. Then it worked for a few hours. Even non-smokers have checked, and they no longer smell any smoke. Absolutely incredible! And now neither of us smokes in the car anymore."

"The machine was ridiculously easy to use. Just place it in the middle of the car and let it run for two hours. The unpleasant smell of old tobacco is now gone, I am very satisfied," he says.

Sanitize your car with ozone – here's how
- Take the opportunity to thoroughly clean the car before sanitizing: Brush out gravel and dust, vacuum and wipe the interior, and wash the mats.
- Place Ozoneair on the car floor and connect it to a power outlet. Set the car's surface area (sqm) and press start.
- Keep doors and windows closed while the machine is working. Turn off the ventilation. In just a few hours, bad odors in the car will disappear and be replaced by a fresh, clean scent.
- Leave the car while Ozoneair is on. You should not inhale ozone. Two hours after the treatment is completed, the ozone molecules are guaranteed to have decomposed into ordinary oxygen.

How does ozone work?
Ozone is a gas called "active oxygen"; the molecule consists of three oxygen atoms. Ozone attacks and breaks down the carbon chains that odors are made of, and the molecules causing bad odors are neutralized.
