Odors are a common dilemma for housing cooperatives.
There can be a musty smell in the communal basement, laundry room, or attic. Or smoke odor or other stench can spread from an apartment to the stairwell and into other apartments.
Regardless of the odor problem: Now you can easily get rid of the odors – with ozone.
Sanitation companies have long used ozone generators to remove odors from homes and premises, such as smoke smell, mold smell, and other bad odors.
Ozone is a gas also known as active oxygen; its molecule consists of three oxygen atoms and has the property of attacking and neutralizing the molecules that cause odor.
Deep cleaning
The ozone gas also penetrates superficially into materials such as floors, walls, furniture, and furnishings – and therefore cleans deeply. With the Ozoneair product, private individuals can remove odors with ozone, without prior knowledge.
– We officially launched the product in spring 2018, and it sold out immediately, says Johan Lundberg, founder of Ozoneair, a technology company based in Luleå.
Today, over 40,000 units of the machine have been sold.
A housing cooperative can use Ozoneair both to remove odors in common areas and to eliminate odors in apartments. An Ozoneair can handle approximately 1000 treatments; the two largest models can also be refilled.
What odors does Ozoneair remove? Here are some examples:
- Pet odor. Has a neighbor's pet urinated in inappropriate places? The pungent smell of urine is difficult to scrub away but disappears with the help of ozone.
- Smoke odor. Can linger in a room or entire home, even if no one has smoked there for a long time. Ozone is an established method for sanitizing tobacco odor and even fire odor from rooms, furniture, and cars.
- Musty odor caused by moisture, mold, trash. The basement, laundry room, attic, and trash room are typical places where it can smell musty, even if you sweep, clean, and flush.
- "Old" odor. It can smell stuffy, stale, and dusty. Impregnation agents used in house construction in the past can spread a stench reminiscent of mold. With ozone, you refresh.
